ARABIC INTERNET NAMES CONSORTIUM

 الائتلاف العربي لاسماء الإنترنت

October 3, 2002

Honorable Executive Council

Dear AINC Members

I wish to clearly state that after careful review of all the past events in question and multiple factors at AINC as well as lengthy exhausted consultations; and as a founding member of AINC and its current executive director; I do hereby again support all the motions previously submitted by Mr. Khaled Fattal & seconded by Mr. Wael Nasr and other AINC members in what is in the best interest of AINC and the cause of the Arabic internet.

The majority of the executive council positions (attached) including the executive director will expire this first week of October 2002, and given what I just stated above, I hereby 2nd and support Mr. Fattal’s motions.

As my position will be naturally dissolved by the above, and in order for AINC not to have a void in its leadership and to continue to serve transparency, I hereby pass all the expired executive council authority to Mr. Khaled Fattal as the Acting Executive Director/Council, and fully authorize him to, including but is not limited to, investigating, leading and implementing results for the motions 1, 2, 3 and 4 that he proposed, as stipulated in his last email (below), effective immediately, with the condition that he accepts, which I hope he does.

       (1) Dissolving all positions immediately (since you state position are not important),

(2) Ordering a full and independent inquiry into Tunisia ballot and elections in 2002 and

2001 amongst other matters, in addition to a
(3) Constitutional overhaul as well. Then,
(4) New elections can be established on new rules and procedures (not mirroring other institutions

    as you suggested)

While Mr. Fattal and I may have disagreed on many issues publicly and privately, I have always had the highest respect for him and always trusted his motives to desire the best for the Arabic culture. And I have no problems in accepting that his contentions were valid and his continued quest without giving up for legitimacy and transparency at AINC is something I admire and personally fully support as it is my shared vision and utmost own goal too.

Again, I ask all members to give Mr. Fattal their immediate full support and cooperation. I hope that this will show you all that I am, as always, a true team player and have nothing at all to hide. I only want what is in the best for my Arabic culture, language & of course AINC.

Looking forward to a bright future and an enhanced AINC. Best wishes & sincere regards.

Yours truly,

Asaad Y. Alnajjar, P.E.

AINC Executive Director
